Eligibility Requirements:
Must be a student at a University of California campus. Must have a means of accepting funds through campus.
General Information:
The UCIRA grant was originally intended to support proposals which are participation-oriented. Proposals may include; exhibitions, performances, concerts, guest-artist visits, site-specific art, workshops, festivals and publications that foster innovation and campus engagement through the arts.
Proposal Requirements:
Must send a letter of recommendation from a UC faculty or staff person.
Additional Information:
All proposals must: transform experience and foster intersection of community, encourage peer to peer leadership and learning through the arts. Also should include: experimental art forms, utilize arts as a means of addressing challenging topics, facilitate collaboration, and increase general knowledge of the arts within the community.

ESA Foundation Computer and Video Game Scholarship
ESA Foundation Scholarship Program
Filing period: March 1- May 15
Amount offered: $3,000
Eligibility Requirements:
· Must be a high school senior or college freshman, sophomore or junior
· Must be a woman or minority student enrolling in a full-time undergraduate program at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
· Must be pursuing a degree leading to a career in computer and video game arts (high school seniors must already be accepted into a program)
· Must maintain a GPA of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale
General Information:
The ESAF first established their scholarship program 2007 with an emphasis on aiding women and minority students who are pursuing degrees in computer and video game arts. Each year, the ESAF also gives grants to organizations that support the digital arts.
Proposal Requirements:

· Documents including:
o ACT/SAT Scores
o High school Transcript (unofficial ok)
o College/University Transcript (unofficial ok)
o Art and design examples (optional)
o 1 or more teacher/counselor recommendations
· Financial information such as income, financial aid, etc.
· Information regarding any participation in gaming associations or teams.
· An essay explaining why you are interested in pursuing a degree, and subsequently a career, in computer and video game arts (500 word limit).
Additional Information:
There are 30 scholarships awarded annually; 15 to high school seniors and 15 to current college students. Both game engineers and artists have received awards from this foundation, however emphasis is placed on digital arts (3D modeling and animation; computer science; game art and design; real-time interactive simulation; and web design and interactive media) The ESAF received over 3,000 scholarship applications in the 2010-2011 school year. Of the winners, 22 were women and 16 were minorities. A variety of majors are represented in this scholarship.

James D. Phelan Art Awards
Deadlines: June (printmaking), July (film), October (photography and video) this award is offered every 2 years
Amount given: from $2,500 to $10,000
Eligibility:
Must be a California-born artist. A copy of birth certificate must be included in application. Past recipients cannot enter again.
General Information:
This is a scholarship offered every two years to emerging artists working in film, photography, printmaking and video. Film and video awards are offered in even-numbered years and photography and printmaking is awarded in odd-numbered years. Six awards are given out annually. The printmaking award winners receive $5,000 cash and an exhibition at the Kala Gallery in Berkeley, California. Photography winners are given $3,750 and are part of a group exhibition put on by SF Camerawork. Film, Video and Digital Media awards are given to one person for the amount of $10,000 and two people get $5,000 each. Video and film is put on in partnership by the Bay Area Video Coalition and the Film Arts Foundation.
